The year 2016

Byebye 2016,
 
Das Jahr 2016, war ein super schönes Jahr für mich. Ich kann mich echt nicht beschweren. Begonnen in Südafrika mitten in der Wüste unterm Sternenhimmel mit dem Löwengebrüll, geendet in den USA.

Viel Urlaub, Reitabzeichen, Turniere und mein großes Abenteuer -
das Auslandsjahr.

Wie gesagt, begonnen hat es in Südafrika und auch Namibia, mit einer wunderschönen Reise. Es war wahnsinnig toll und ich könnte diesen Urlaub noch so einige Male wiederholen. In Namibia habe ich meinen Entschluss gefasst, dass mein Austauschjahr in die USA gehen soll und nicht nach Südafrika oder England. Nach dem Urlaub haben wir meine Organisation festgelegt: Treff Sprachreisen. Und nach den Weihnachtsferien gingen dann gleich die Springstunden fürs Abzeichen los. Es war eine coole Zeit. Mit Training, einem Turnier und am 1. Mai das Reitabzeichen, welches ich bestanden habe. Viele Stunden im Stall, auf dem Pferd. Mit den Mädels. Gleichzeitig auch Tanzkurs. Jeden Freitag war es cool, wobei das Essengehen danach fast noch besser war, als die Tanzstunde selber. Abschlussball des Grundkurses war super und der Fortgeschrittenenkurs war auch toll. Die Hochzeit meines Bruders, wunderschön!
In der Zwischenzeit gab es viel Schulzeug, mein Treff Interview und die lange  CASE Bewerbung.  Dann war ich im Programm. Und es hieß warten. Viele Stunden mit meinen Mädels. Die Pfingstferien in Andalusien,  Eine Gastfamilienanfrage. Warum ich abgelehnt habe, weiß ich nicht. Bauchgefühl! Andalusien war eine tolle Woche - mit meinen Eltern. Danach ging es nochmal zum Endspurt der Schule und es hieß schon bald Good Bye Schoolyear 2015/16. Die ersten zwei Ferienwochen habe ich viel im Reitstall verbracht. Dann verbrachte ich zwei schöne Tage bei meinem Bruder in Freiburg, bis die Freuden oder auch Schreckensnachricht kam. In 2 Tagen gehts los... naja ab dahin wisst ihr, wenn ihr meinen Blog gelesen habt, ja Bescheid. Es hieß schnell alles zusammen packen. Einen letzten Abend mit den besten Mädels verbingen. Dann auf nach Washington. Ein erstes cooles Wochenende in USA. Die ersten Wochen ungewohnt und auch echt komisch. Aber dann habe ich doch schnell  Freundschaften gebildet. Ich habe mich eingelebt und die Zeit ist geflogen. Reiten, State Fair, Myrtle Beach, Hurricane Holidays, Homecoming, Footballgames und gymnastics. Wunderschöne Sekunden, Minuten, Stunden, Tage, Wochen, Monate, die viel zu schnell vergingen. Dann ein supertolles Thanksgiving. Exam Week mit vielen Klausuren. Christmas break. Amazing Weihnachferien. Fast die ganze Eastcoast hochgefahren, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, D.C, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine. New York war so grandios und toll. Philadelphia interessant. Maine und Weihnachten bei den Großeltern auch klasse. Dann wieder zurück nach Irmo in der Nacht zum 30. Dezember. Silvester. Ein neues Jahr. Hello 2017🎉

Bin gespannt was da so kommt...

 

Bye Bye 2016! 2016 was a great year for me. It began in South Africa in the desert below the stary skies. Many vacations, my riding exam, horse shows and my biggest adventure - the Exchange year.

 

Like I said, it started in South Africa and also Namibia, with a wonderful journey. It was amazing and I could repeat this a hundred times. In Namibia, I made the decision that in my exchange year I would like to go to the USA and not to South Africa or England. After this big vacation I chose my company: Treff Sprachreisen. And also after the holidays, my jumping lessons started for my riding exam. This was a cool time. Training, one show and the exam on May first, which I passed. Many hours in the barn, on the horse. With my Girls. At the same time I did a ballroom dancing course. Every Friday we had so much fun, afterwards we usually ate out together. The final ball of both courses were awesome.

Then the wedding of my brother. It was so beautiful.

 

In this time there was lots of school stuff. I also had my interview with Treff Sprachreisen followed by the long CASE application after which I was in the programme. Then waiting for a host Family. Lots of funny hours. A request of a single Person host family. Why did I decline? I don't know. Gut feeling. Holidays in Andalusia. A nice week- with my parents. After that the School finish, the last weeks. And then already Good Bye School Year 2015/2016. I spent the first two weeks of Holidays mostly in the barn and with other friends. Then two days at my brother's house in Freiburg. Suddenly the happy or scary message - I had a host family and I should leave in 2 days. As fast as possible I packed my suitcases. One last night  with some of my friends. Like a little Good Bye Party. Then to Washington D.C. for a cool weekend.
 

The first weeks. Weird. Unfamiliar. But then I settled in, made friends. The time flew. Horse riding, State Fair, Myrtle Beach, Hurricane Holidays, Homecoming, Football games, gymnastics and much more. Wonderful seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months which have passed away too fast. A nice Thanksgiving. Exam Week. Christmas Break. Amazing. We drove almost the whole east coast. South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, D.C., Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusets, New Hampshire and Maine. New York was the best. Philadelphia interesting. Maine and Christmas with the grandparents also so perfect. Then back to Irmo on the night of December 30th. Last day of the year 2016. A new year. Hello 2017.
